We always guessed that if we put beer, breweries and fundraising together we might be on a winner…and that theory paid off with the inaugural Hair of the Dog Brewery Hop that took place in middle March (luckily for us, just before COVID restrictions kicked in).
With Simon from United Bus Lines in charge of getting our 47 guests safely from A to B, we headed off to our first stop: Hickinbotham of Dromana where owner Terryn gave a talk on the different beer varieties they produce as well as a fabulous wine tasting that saw many of us carrying bottles of wine back to the bus ‘for later’.
From there, we headed further south and visited Jetty Road Brewery in Dromana where we enjoyed a fantastic lunch, and of course, some beer. Thanks Jetty Road for feeding us so well.
Last stop was St Andrews Brewery in Boneo where the weather was kind and we got to sit outside under the umbrellas and enjoy the afternoon sun (and beer) before heading back to our point of departure.
A fantastic day with loads of laughs, great conversation, delicious food, well brewed beer and a brilliant $4500 raised for Dogs for Kids. Plans are underway to repeat the event again in 2021 and adding to our repertoire with a Gin Fling hopefully later in the year. Stay tuned. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets.
