Last year if anyone had said Dogs for Kids would be conducting their Annual General Meeting via zoom, most of us would have said “what’s zoom?”, followed closely by “you’re dreaming.”
Fast forward to October and that’s exactly where we found ourselves (like many other businesses and organisations) and we’re happy to say it went off without a hitch. Granted it didn’t have the same ‘vibe’ or ‘energy’ when people are in the same space and can break away to chat amongst themselves but it was still wonderful to feel the passion, energy, drive and commitment everyone has for our wonderful charity is as strong as ever.
The last financial year posed some unusual challenges that none of us could predict but it’s testament to the resilience, adaptability, and resourcefulness of the Dogs for Kids team (staff, Board, volunteers, donors, partners, community) that the organisation is in a solid position to face the future. Government funding and tax concessions during COVID certainly played their part and Dogs for Kids is most grateful for that support but it is the engagement and connection from our base that will always compel us to do our best…so a hearty thank you to each and every one of you who has supported us in all ways, large and small. We truly could not do it without you.
